Ten Ricky Huening Stories

Ten Ricky Huening Stories
Ten Ricky Huening Stories
The Space Age drama promised a new age among the stars. There were sad times, too, with the death of a President and the loss of a beloved grandfather. The loss devastated Ricky until his mother explained that people are like peanuts. That made it all better and lent him comfort when his mother died later in life. Coming of age in the Sixties meant growing up in a much simpler time. Simple pleasures like swinging from a swing mounted on a tree limb created visions of fantasies of faraway lands. Fashioning rockets out of Play-Doh brought dreams of exploring the stars in rockets that spouted fire. Time machines were as simple as sitting quietly listening to stories woven by a grandfather as he savored his pipe.

The ten slice of life stories in this short story collection are about a young boy growing up and coming of age during the decade of the Sixties. Some of the stories are funny, some are sad and some may just make you think. Ten Ricky Huening Stories are semi-autobiographical stories all based on some event in the author’s life as a boy growing up in a southern Indiana farm.

I hope you enjoy this collection of stories and that some make you smile.
